•         Sage Hill Lake and Kosar Storm Pond – A set of pathways around the lake connect with the rest of the area, offering hours of walking, running, or cycling.
•         Sage Valley Playground, Pirate Playground, and Sage Spaceport Playground – Kids of all ages have a blast at these well-constructed playgrounds throughout the community.

Sage Hill is still a new and growing area, and as such doesn’t have its own school district yet. That said, the neighbouring areas offer a vast array of public, Christian, and Catholic schools accessible in less than a 10-minute drive. The Designated public school for Sage Hill includes Hawkwood School Elementary (K-6), F.E. Osborne School (6-9) Junior High, James Fowler High School (10-12). The designated Catholic schools for Sage Hill Include Msgr. Anderson, Blessed Marie-Rose, Notre Dame High School, or St. Francis High School 

Getting Around Calgary from Sage Hill

Like many of Calgary’s new communities, the benefit of living outside of the inner-city neighbourhoods is that each area is much more thoughtfully designed around the quality of life. What this also means is that being connected to the rest of the city becomes very important, and that’s something that Sage Hill has done very well.

Primary Routes

Sage Hill is in the northwest of Calgary, near the edge of the city. To one side, Symons Valley Road offers quick access to Stoney Trail, and it also connects to Big Hill Springs Road north of the city, making Airdrie equally accessible. On the west side of the community, Shaganappi Trail heads south along the west edge of Nose Hill Park and connects to Crowchild Trail, where you will find a huge shopping area and a c-train station, as well as an easy drive toward downtown. One other unique benefit to living along the northern edge of Calgary is access to 144 Ave NW, which heads west, so you can get out to Cochrane or the mountains without having to venture into the city proper!

Transit

Calgary’s bus transit network is extensive and runs year-round. Sage hill has bus stops all throughout, so catching public transit is easy to do within walking distance of any block. For downtown commuters and students, a short drive and cheap parking at the Crowfoot LRT station allow you to avoid the buses while still saving money on parking and reducing your daily drive.
